What to pack Back to top
The Maldives has a warm climate all year round. Beach wear, cotton shirts or sleeveless shirts and shorts are ideal during the day. You may wish to include something for the night life at the resorts.
Although you will likely spend most of the time barefoot in the island, a pair of sandals or shoes may be needed for the paved streets of the Capital Male' or when the sand is a little hot on a sunny afternoon.
Don't forget to pack sun glasses, sunscreen, camera or snorkeling gear!

Telephone services
Mobile phone carriers in the Maldives are Dhiraagu and Wataniya. Roaming services are available for customers of major mobile operators world wide. The carriers offer Edge and 3G coverage.

Internet services are available at all resorts and cybe cafes are located in the capital Island of Male'.
ATMs and Shopping Back to top
Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted in all sourvenir shops in all the islands and major retail stores in Male'. ATMs for cash withdrawals are available in Male' only.

Resort Transfer from Airport Back to top
There is primarily two means of transportation between Islands. A Cabin cruiser is the choice for transfer to Male' and nearby resorts in the Atoll. For Further atolls and photo flights, Twin Otter aircraft is the choice.

Male' International Airport is an Island by itself. It is a 2 minutes cabin cruiser ride away from the Capital Island of Male'.
After the long flight hours, you will be greeted by the refreshing ocean winds as the terminal is a walk away from the run way.
Transportation from the Airport to the resorts are by air or sea. Read more on transportation at Resort Transfer.

Visa
A 30 Day Tourist Visa is granted on arrival to tourists of all countries.

From Colombo: 1 Hour
From Singapore and Dubai: 4 Hours
From Europe: 9 to 11 Hours.

All visitors to the Maldives are required to possess a valid international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever if they are from, have stayed in, or have traveled through the infected areas.

Liquor
Liquor is available at the resorts. Inbound passengers with possession of liquor or related products will requre the items to be bonded at customs on arrival and collected on their departure.
