Visiting a vibrant and populous city is always a different experience. The sight and sounds of Male', meeting the locals and experiencing the Maldivian way of life.

Male' is full of vibrant and lively colors and textures with the clear blue sky, multi colored buildings, no traffic jams on the paved roads.

It will take about 40 minutes to walk around the island and 20 minute to walk across. No matter where you are, Cafe's, Shops, attractions and resturants will always be within a 15 minute walk. The locals speak english and will be happy to help with directions.

Taxis are available and come in all colors and marques. Taxis can be identified by the yellow license plate.

Number 1: Hukuru Miskiiy/ Friday Mosque

One of the oldest architectural structures featuring fine maldivian workmanship, this mosque was built in 1656 during the Sultanate of Ibrahim Iskandar. The walls are built from coral blocks with decorations from carved coral and the inner decorations are wooden engravings.
